Bleiswijk
victory - previously installed in Koog aan de Zaan in the Dutch town of
Zaanstad - The Netherlands (1984-2000) - its populist mayor R. Vreeman decided to comply
with a more than ten year old petition drawn up by a citizen (Schot Cranes) who didn't like the sculpture
studies were made to relocate this work along the TGV-line (Train à
Grande Vitesse the French high velocity train) on its way through Holland to Amsterdam - near Bleiswijk in the province of South Holland it runs above
the ground
In
2003 however the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund (Prins Bernhard
Cultuurfonds) did not allocate the necessary twenty thousand Euros to make
realization possible - they found the sculpture dated - the committee
members were probably able to recognize the period in which the sculpture was
made - this of course is true of all art which reflects its time. Often
committee members like to show off their knowledge in strange ways.

2002|2003 - TGV/HSL line location in Bleiswijk Holland is being studied -
proposal 2 in the open
