Houten

The municipality of Houten, near Utrecht in Holland, commissioned Lucien den Arend to make a sculpture for a raised mound in the central park which bisects Houten. Den Arend made a construction consisting of large and identical steel arcs, each having a chord of twelve meters. These virtually perform a rhythmic dance up and over the small hill. The total height above ground level is about twenty meters. He called the sculpture c.y.f.

Houten Holland public sculpture and the site specific sculptures by Lucien den Arend - his site specific sculptures ordered by the city of Houten
