CITIES - sculptures and land art

Den Haag

The Dutch city of Den Haag selected the proposal by Lucien den Arend to be realized in the Molenwijk Zuid - a new housing area. Three artists had been asked to submit proposals. The housing project was designed for people who had to move from another part of the town which was to be demolished. These people used their grinding machines to make cuts and their cars' tow hooks trying to pull it down until finally, after a year, the construction was dismantled by the city. Now they have a fine strip to work on their cars and dispose of their garbage.
