Beemster

A sculpture exhibition was being organized in 1987 in the Beemster Polder in the province of North Holland. Lucien den Arend was invited to participate. The roads and subdivision of this polder were laid out nearly four hundred years ago as a perfect grid. The sculptor studied the polder and its history and decided to complement this mathematical system.
